The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport is excited to announce its first ever post-security concessionaire, First Class Concessions, Inc.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has voted to permit First Class Concessions, Inc., to operate a food, beverage and retail business in the new terminal of the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport. This is the first time the airport will have full concessions post security.

First Class Concessions offers airports quality operations across the United States and caters exclusively to airports. Established in 2005, it currently supports Phoenix-Sky Harbor International Airport, Santa Barbara Airport, St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, San Diego International Airport and several others.

“We’re excited to welcome First Class Concessions to our airport,” said Kevin Bumen, Director of Airports. “The company has a strong reputation for high-quality, friendly service and we look forward to bringing their provisions to the San Luis Obispo Airport.”

Under the new agreement, First Class Concessions will operate the sole post-security concessions facility in the terminal. The company will have approximately 1,000 square feet to provide food, beverage, and various customer service retail items.

First Class Concessions President Tasneem Vakharia anticipates providing a shop with grab-and-go items, a retail area and a bar to cater to passengers waiting for their flights. Showcasing local vendors is a top priority—including local wines.

“First Class enjoys an industry-wide reputation for providing the highest quality in both products and customer service, and in featuring local companies in our product selection as a way to represent the best of the local region to the traveling public,” shared Vakharia. “Our executive team has a combined 60+ years’ experience in airport concessions, which we will rely upon to ensure smooth operations and a First Class experience for all who visit our SLO facility. We are very much looking forward to our grand opening!”

As part of the agreement, First Class Concessions has agreed to commit a capital investment of $120,000 to build out the space. This Concession Agreement provides for an initial term of 7 years, with an option to extend for one additional consecutive three-year period.

The new airport terminal is scheduled to open in fall 2017. In addition to the new concession, it will feature 56,000 square feet of terminal space, two jet bridges and an airy outdoor atrium. For more information, visit sloairport.com/new-terminal-construction.
