FAQS

To issue identification badges, the airport must collect information from each individual, perform a security check, and train each individual as to their responsibilities. Please call us at (805) 781-5205 or see our web site for more detail of AOA Badging requirements and processes.

Getting a badge depends on how fast you clear the TSA threat assessment. The process can take anywhere from one to two weeks. When your badge is ready we will call you to let you know.

Please see our website for AOA Badging fees.

No, you must be affiliated with the airport to have a badge. If this no longer applies to you, your badge will be disabled. Please return your AOA badge to the airport administration office.

There is an expiration date on the bottom of the card printed in red. Your badge will be turned off on this date. You may come in 30 days before this date to renew your card without disrupted access. Please see our website for current renewal fees.

You must contact the airport administration office no later than 30 days after your expiration date to arrange for a renewal. After 30 days, you must start the process over again (including retaking the class) and re-paying the initial badge fee.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has mandated Security Directives for all Part 139 airports. Under this directive, all individuals having unescorted access to the Airport Operations Area (AOA) will be required to have airport identification badges. The AOA is defined as all areas within the fenced portion of the airport.
