San Luis Obispo Library Hosts Free Legal Clinic to Clear Criminal Records

County of San Luis Obispo Libraries are partnering with OneJustice and America's Job Center of California, San Luis Obispo to offer one-on-one meetings with an attorney to help fill out paperwork to have criminal records expunged.


San Luis Obispo, CA (Friday, February 7, 2020)— Low-income Californians face legal barriers to basic life necessities that most of us take for granted, like food, housing, health care, and education. Record clearance has proven to help clients in obtaining future employment, housing, and education. Furthermore, many clients place a high value on clearing their criminal records.

In order to assist the low-income residents San Luis Obispo and its surrounding communities, OneJustice is partnering with California Rural Legal Assistance, and County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries to host a FREE legal clinic for individuals in need of criminal record clearance assistance. All are welcomed to the information session! During the clinic, individuals with appointments will meet one-on-one with volunteer attorneys one-hundred percent free of charge.
