Public Comment
Vicky Cardoza: Question on TRM Levee/exterminators. Nathan Claud: Will answer during the Maintenance section of meeting
Stan Ikeda: Question of cost of remote and in-person meetings Nathan Claud: It was explained that if we wish to still have a virtual option when we go back to in person meetings there will be associated cost increases. The exact cost is not known at this time. The Committee unanimously agreed that they would not like to incur
those costs at the meeting held on 1/18/2022

Channel Maintenance Activities
The current contract with KD Janni has been extended through June. We will be working on another amendment that will extend the contract through 2025 and increase the total an additional
$930,838.59. This amount is within our allocated budget. It will go to the Board of Supervisors for approval in late May or early June.

and 6 for slope stabilization.
Herbicide was sprayed in the upper portion of the project in January. KD Janni is planning another application soon.
We have planted another test plot on the outer slopes of the at Creek rd. We are trying three different planting scenarios to see which has the greatest success. We tried 2” of mulch with hydroseed, 2” of mulch with hydroseed and carex plugs, no mulch with hydroseed and plugs and hydroseed alone. Our environmental staff has been watering biweekly to see if we can get some success. The plan is to see which method will give us the best success and emulate the method on the entire south levy during the “rainy season”
A crew will be cutting the outer slopes of the levy on Thursday.
Vicki Cardoza: has concern over squirrels ruining the levee. TRM is not squirrel proof, but we are treating for them. We have contracts with Western exterminators to treat for them. We can’t treat within the creek bc of the red legged frogs. We are seeing if we can make an impact, but do not have data yet
Vicki Cardoza: recommended crab grass for vegetation
