El Camino Real Bridge Replacement Project, Santa Margarita

This project is under construction. The existing bridge on El Camino Real over the Santa Margarita Creek, which is deteriorating and hydraulicly inadequate, is being replaced with a new-cast-in place, concrete slab bridge.

The project will improve public safety by making the bridge wider and adding a center turn lane. 

Construction will be completed at the end of 2024.

 This project is in District 2.

Project Updates

June 25, 2018 - Environmental Report (MND) Available for Comment

The project's environmental Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) report considered the location, design features, and environmental effects of the proposed bridge replacement project.

A Community Meeting to discuss the MND took place on July 6, 2018 at the Santa Margarita Community Building.
