Jury finds San Miguel woman guilty of assault with a baseball bat causing great bodily injury

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Janine Laurice Cesena (DOB 12/15/1991) was convicted by a San Luis Obispo County jury of assault with a deadly weapon and causing great bodily injury to her victim when she used a baseball bat during the 2023 attack in San Miguel.

Weights & Measures: 2024 Inspection Sweep for Skimmers

During the heavily traveled 2024 Thanksgiving holiday, County Weights and Measures inspectors conducted an additional concentrated sweep of inspections consisting of 294 gas pumps at 34 stations throughout the county. Inspectors did not detect any fraudulent devices during this special effort.

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today Nathan Daniel Abate (DOB 6/23/1988) has been sentenced to custody in state prison for eight years and eight months after a jury found him guilty of sexual assault crimes against two victims. The crimes occurred between 2009 and 2012.
