Road Closure For Low-Water Crossing Repair On Shell Creek Road

SHANDON – The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will temporarily close Shell Creek Road for road repairs at the San Juan Creek crossing, approximately 4.5 miles southeast of Shandon.

Former Cal Poly student Resident Advisor sentenced to 7 years 4 months in prison for sexual assault at Cal Poly student dormitory

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Alexis Alejandro (DOB 01/07/1999) was sentenced to 7 years 4 months in state prison for his guilty plea to Assault with Intent to Commit a Sex Offense and First-Degree Residential Burglary. He is also ordered to register as a sex offender for his lifetime.

Jury convicts Rye Daniel Wardlaw of being a felon in possession of ammunition while out on bail in a separate felony case

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County jury has returned guilty verdicts after a trial where Rye Daniel Wardlaw (DOB 09/04/1977) was accused of possessing ammunition while he was prohibited from lawfully possessing ammunition because he has been convicted of a prior felony offense. He will be sentenced on March 5, 2025.
