Change in Ownership / Transfers
The Change in Ownership/Transfers section of the Assessor’s Office maintains all ownership records with the exception of Business Property assessments. We review deeds and a variety of other recorded and unrecorded documents related to real property ownership. After review, we update both property ownership and mailing addresses. We also determine when a transfer of interest should be reassessed, and when to request and allow an exclusion from reassessment or an exemption.
Remember that our records are for property tax assessment purposes, and are not a guarantee of title. Also, we are not attorneys, and we do not give legal advice.
