Swap Meet Food Facility Health Permitting
This service allows you to apply for or renew a permit to operate a Swap Meet booth with food service within San Luis Obispo County.
What is the process?
Submit Swap Meet Application
Download the swap meet health permit application
Please note, swap meet vendors are typically approved to vend either whole, uncut produce, prepackaged nonpotentially hazardous foods, or both. However, temporary food facility operations may be allowed at the discretion of the swap meet organizer and requires a more in depth application process for health permitting.
Pay the Health Permit Fee
The permit fee is due with the application. Please refer to the Environmental Health Permit Fee Schedule for more information.
Await Approval From Inspector
It is unlawful for a Swap Meet Food Vending Booth to operate without prior approval from Environmental Health Services.
The health inspector will review your completed application and sign off when approved. The inspector reviewing the application will contact you with any additional information that may be required, revisions needed, or when your application is approved. A Health Permit to Operate will be mailed within 2-4 weeks after receiving inspector approval.
