Community Event and Swap Meet Organizer Health Permitting
This service allows you to apply for a permit to conduct a Community Event, Swap Meet Event, or Farmers' Market including food service to the general public within San Luis Obispo County.
What is the process?
Receive Approval to Conduct Community Event
The sponsor of a Community Event shall obtain all necessary permits from all applicable agencies in order to conduct business within San Luis Obispo County prior to seeking an event sponsor health permit from Environmental Health Services.
Review Operational Requirements
Read and comply with the Temporary Food Facility Guidelines.
Submit Health Permit Application
The sponsor shall submit the event application to Environmental Health Services for review and approval a minimum of 14 days prior to the scheduled event.

- This form is required if your organization is requesting an exemption from permit requirements.
Verify Submission of all Food Vendor Booth Applications
An application submitted to Environmental Health Services for review and approval is also required for each Temporary Food Facility vendor planning to operate at the proposed Community Event. Vendor applications must be submitted a minimum of 14 days prior to the scheduled event.
Pay the Health Permit Fee
The permit fee is due with the application. Please refer to the Environmental Health Permit Fee Schedule for more information.
Await Approval From Inspector
It is unlawful to begin operation of a new Community Event or Temporary Food Facility without first receiving approval from an inspector in addition to a valid Health Permit to Operate.
The health inspector will review your completed application and sign off when approved. You will be notified when your application has been approved.

This service is available to sponsors and organizers intending to conduct a Community Event or Swap Meet Event including food service to the general public within San Luis Obispo County.
