Aetna Dental Plan Overview

Aetna Dental is a dental DMO plan. Aetna Dental DMO requires you have an in-network dentist. You must select or auto-allocate a Primary Care Dentist upon enrollment to receive dental care. 

Dental ID Cards

You will not receive a physicals dental ID card. Find our Aetna group number listed below, along with contact information for the carrier. To confirm enrollment or eligibility for yourself and your dependents, please contact Aetna.  

To view or access a digital Aetna dental ID card, visit Aetna's website and create an account. If you do not know your member ID, use your SSN when registering to a new account.

FAQs

You can change to another Aetna Dental Dentist mid-year, but you first must call Aetna and tell them who you would like as your new dentist. Aetna will give you the effective date of the change.

If you choose to have your Aetna dental provider auto-assigned, Aetna will assign your provider within 30 days of your enrollment. If you want a provider assigned sooner, you can contact Aetna directly by phone (or through their online portal) to have a provider assigned that day. 

To confirm your auto-assigned provider, contact Aetna via phone or login to their online portal. Please note, Aetna will not send a confirmation letter once a provider is auto assigned. 
Aetna requires you work or live within 15 miles of an Aetna dental provider in order to maintain your dental plan. If you move or no longer work within 15 miles of an Aetna provider, your County dental plan will be termianted.
