Vendor Registration

What is the process?

Registering as a Supplier with Public Purchase

Your first step should be to register as a supplier through Public Purchase. If you are already registered with Public Purchase, please skip this step and proceed directly to step two below. Once registered you will receive an activation email from [email protected] advising that your account is activated (Note: be sure to add this email address to your contacts to avoid bid notifications being sent to your junk folder rather than your inbox). It can take up to 24 hours for your account to become active.

Registering as a Supplier with the County

Once you have received your activation email from Public Purchase, log into San Luis Obispo County Public Purchase homepage and accept the terms and conditions of use. You will need to register with San Luis Obispo County and select the National Institute of Government Procurement (NIGP) Commodity Codes that relate to your business in order to receive email notifications of future bid opportunities.

It is important that you complete step two of the registration process (register with San Luis Obispo County) or you will not receive notifications of upcoming bid opportunities. It is your responsibility to keep your vendor information updated in Public Purchase, particularly your contacts and email addresses.

FAQs

Public Purchase has both free and paid registration options available for prospective vendors. Purchasing Services recommends using the free option. It provides the same access to Bid/RFP opportunities as well as automatic notifications when new opportunities are released.

Purchasing Services Staff is available through the Contact Us forms for questions about Public Purchase, however if it is a question regarding registration or a lost password, the best option is to use the Chat with Us option on the Public Purchase homepage.
