Charges filed in gang-related robbery in Shell Beach

District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that his office has filed felony charges against Brayan ArellanoVazquez (20) of Santa Maria. Charges include Robbery, Attempted Carjacking and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. It is further alleged that ArellanoVazquez committed the crimes in association with a criminal street gang.
The District Attorney's Office has filed felony charges against Brayan ArellanoVazquez (DOB 11-27-1998) of Santa Maria including robbery, attempted carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon. It is further alleged that Mr. ArellanoVazquez committed the crimes in association with a criminal street gang. The charges stem from a series of events that took place near the Pirates' Cover area of Shell Beach. If convicted of all charges, Mr. ArellanoVazquez faces a maximum of 28 years in state prison.
The case was investigated by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation and the Santa Maria Police Department. The matter is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Lindsey Bittner.
