The County’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) programs and plans will be the focus of a town hall presentation and meeting on Tuesday, August 28, 5:00-6:30pm at Nipomo’s Community Library (918 West Tefft Street).

The event is open to the public and will provide an overview of the MHSA, including programs operating in the south county.

The meeting will be facilitated by Behavioral Health’s Prevention & Outreach Division Manager, and MHSA Coordinator, Frank Warren, and will include presentations on school-based mental health early intervention programs as well as community-based veterans and homelessness outreach.  The meeting will also provide information on current planning and funding, as well as invite community members to identify issues which may need to be addressed in the future.

The town hall is part of a Community Planning Process and all MHSA programs must be designed and approved with stakeholder input. Anyone with an interest in mental health and co-occurring substance use programs is encouraged to attend.

Media is invited and welcome to cover this event.  For more information, please contact Rebecca Redman (805) 781-4754; [email protected]
