Reemployment Opportunities

If you are laid off, your name will be placed on a Reemployment List for your job classification, lower-level positions in the same career family, and other jobs of equal or lower pay where you have held permanent status. (Click here to see a list of all County Job Classifications). This list is valid for one year and must be used by hiring departments when recruiting for those classifications. You will be placed on a reemployment list for your department and for other departments. Your placement on the reemployment list will be based on the reverse order of layoff, meaning the last person laid off (typically the employee with the most seniority) is the first person eligible to be rehired.
Departments may open a recruitment to fill a vacancy which does not have a corresponding reemployment list, we encourage you to apply to positions posted on the Career Opportunities page that you are interested in.
