Airport Land Use Commission
The San Luis Obispo County Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) is an independent body of seven members which has been created in response to the mandates of The State Aeronautics Act, first enacted in 1967. Although the Airport Land Use Commission, by law, receives technical support from the County of San Luis Obispo, it is an autonomous body and is not part of any local governmental structure.
Duties
The Airport Land Use Commission has two basic duties:
- To prepare and adopt airport land use plans for each airport within its jurisdiction (Oceano County Airport, Paso Robles Municipal Airport, and San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport); and
- To review actions proposed by local cities and counties that would affect land uses within the vicinity of an airport for consistency with the land use plan for that airport.
Meetings
The Airport Land Use Commission meetings are typically the third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the County Government Center.
