Training & Upskilling Services
On-the-Job Training (OJT)- The Employer Services Team can assist businesses with On-the-Job-Training (OJT). OJT helps businesses offset the cost of training new employees on the job by reimbursing up to 75 percent of a new hire’s wages (for a maximum contract of 6 months or 1,040 hours based on an individual’s vocational training needs).
Incumbent Worker Training (IWT)- The Incumbent Worker Training Program is designed to provide direct financial assistance to train current employees to avert a layoff and/or improve the economic competitiveness of local business.
Subsidized Employment- This option subsidizes wages for eligible individuals for up to 6 months, with 100% subsidy provided for the first three months of employment. This provides businesses an opportunity to test the skill set and cultural fit of a candidate with minimal to no risk.
Rapid Response/Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification (WARN) Act
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN Act) of 1988 is a US labor law which protects employees, their families, and communities by requiring most employers in CA with 50 or more employees to provide 60 calendar-day advance notification of plant closings and mass layoffs of employees, as defined in the Act.
