Business Closure and Layoff WARN Information
Unemployment Insurance claim tips when considering filing a paper application:
The fastest and most convenient way to file and process a UI claim is through UI Online. This option is highly recommended.
If you are considering submitting a paper UI claim application, ask yourself if you have:
- Worked in Another State?
- Served in the Military?
- Worked for the Federal Government?
If the answer is NO, it is encouraged to file a claim via the UI Online process.
If the answer is YES to any of the above three questions, please file a claim using the paper UI claim application process below.
- Worked in California (English) / Worked in California (Spanish)
- Worked in California and Another State (English) / Worked in California and Another State (Spanish)
- Served in the Military (English) / Served in the Military (Spanish)
- Worked for the Federal Government (English) / Worked for the Federal Government (Spanish)

Mission Community Services Corporation/Women's Business Center:
Mission Community Services Corporation’s Women's Business Center (MCSC) is a full-service, technical assistance, and training resource for entrepreneurs of all stages. Special focus is directed to undeserved low-to-moderate income minority women. Although they operate as the Women's Business Center they inclusively serve all small businesses. San Luis Obispo SCORE: SCORE website
SCORE provides professional guidance and information to small or new businesses in order to strengthen the local economy. Some of the many services offered include mentoring sessions, workshops, e-mail mentoring, and a publication that provides the processes and procedures necessary to begin and run a business. As well as local contacts (government and private) that provide a smoother implementation of your ideas. The entire publication is available here online.
