  • Candidate List - Contests that will be on ballot. 
    Important: This list includes local candidates only. The complete list of qualified candidates, including federal and state offices, will be available following receipt of the certified list of candidates from the Secretary of State on August 29, 2024. Please contact our office at (805) 781-5228 or [email protected] if you have questions. Please contact the respective Cities for their list of qualified candidates.

  • Candidate Filing Guidelines
  • The Candidate Filing Period runs July 15 - August 9 (extended to August 14 if an incumbent does not file). Beginning the first week of July, prospective candidates can call (805) 781-5228 to make a filing appointment in either SLO or Atascadero (appointments in Atascadero will be scheduled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays only).

  • The County Office of Education is hosting a Candidate Workshop on August 19 for those who have filed as a trustee candidate for any of the SLO County school districts. For additional details, please contact Karla Knuckles at the County Office of Education, 805-782-7203. (Note that this event is on 8/19, not 8/18 as previously publicized.)
  • Interested in filing as a trustee candidate for any of the SLO County school districts?
    The County Office of Education is hosting a Candidate Workshop on June 26 from 5-8pm, 3350 Education Drive, San Luis Obispo (near Cuesta College). Randomized Alphabet and Candidate Rotation Information

  • The California Secretary of State and San Luis Obispo County will conduct their respective random alphabet draws at 11:00 am on August 15. San Luis Obispo's local draw is conducted at our office, located at 1055 Monterey Street, Suite D120 in San Luis Obispo. The public is invited to observe both processes.
