Codes and Ordinances

Building Code Updates: 

Currently, the 2022 Building Code Updates are in effect. Every three years, the State of California adopts new building codes (known collectively as the California Building Standards Code) to establish uniform standards for the construction and maintenance of buildings, electrical systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, and fire and life safety systems.

Land Use and Subdivision Ordinances: 

The unincorporated County of San Luis Obispo also maintains Land Use and Subdivision Ordinances, including the Title 26 Growth Management Ordinance (GMO). and the GMO Administration.
