Subject 1.40 Transfers to Other California Counties
Purpose To establish guidelines for DPO’s and SDPO’s when a PRCS offender requests to be transferred to a different county within the State of California.

  1. Verify the address the offender is going to go to as outlined in the CPOC PRCS Transfer Protocol (pg. 2/ ex. 1-12) and document in Monitor. The offender must demonstrate the ability to establish permanent residency within another county jurisdiction without violating the terms and conditions of post release supervision. 
  2. Give offender travel permit for no more than 30 days pending approval from the receiving County.
  3. Complete “offender info.” Section of the transfer form.
  4. Forward the file to the PRCS unit supervisor for completion of transfer form and submittal of 611 to the receiving county.
  5. Supervisor will keep file until written verification of the acceptance is received.
  6.  Upon receipt of written verification, the PRCS unit supervisor shall prepare closing narrative and forward to the Legal Clerk to have the case closed.
