Another TSA PreCheck registration event will be held in February 2019.
After the tremendous success of January’s PreCheck registration event—more than 1,200 people participated in the two-week offering—IdentoGO, an official partner of the Transportation Security Administration, will be onsite at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport again this month to help travelers register for the TSA PreCheck program.
PreCheck is an expedited security screening program that allows members to keep on light jackets, shoes and belts during the airport security process, as well as to keep their laptops and compliant liquids in their bag.
IdentoGO’s mobile enrollment RV will be in front of the old airport terminal from February 19 through March 1. There will be several appointment opportunities for travelers to apply:
- February 19 – 28, 2019 from 9am – 5pm (Closed Saturday & Sunday)
- March 1, 2019 from 9am – 12pm
To enroll, attendees must bring a government-issued photo ID with proof of U.S. citizenship (i.e., a passport or birth certificate; names on documents must match exactly) and complete a 10-minute fingerprinting process.
For more information or to book an appointment, visit universalenroll.dhs.gov and select San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport as your location. Please note that while walk-ins are accepted, participants who do not make an appointment should be prepared to wait an hour or longer. For all registrants, standard airport parking rates apply.
TSA PreCheck memberships are valid at airports across the country. While the San Luis ObispoAirport doesn’t currently have a separate PreCheck lane, it does make accommodations for PreCheck passengers by permitting them to keep on coats, shoes and belts during the checkpoint process.
Finally, the IdentoGO enrollment process is for PreCheck only, and is not able to enroll people in other travel programs such as Global Entry.
San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP) serves areas as far north as Southern Monterey County and as far south as Northern Santa Barbara County. The airport offers convenient access to and from the Central Coast. Residents and visitors have the choice of three commercial airlines with flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and in spring 2019, Dallas/Ft. Worth.
The airport is also home to full-service general aviation and corporate facilities. For more information, or to book a flight, visit www.sloairport.com.
