115,000 Ballots Mailed to SLO County Voters

Vote-by-mail ballots for the June 5 primary election are on their way to voter’s mailboxes. Here's what you need to know.
About 115,000 ballots were mailed to individuals with permanent vote-by-mail status, which includes their local candidate information. That is nearly 14 percent more ballots than in the 2016 primary election (about 101,000 ballots were mailed that year).
Individuals not registered with permanent vote-by-mail status should have received their sample ballot booklet which contains a copy of the ballot contests and candidate statements on the voter’s ballot, the polling place location assigned to the voter and an application for a vote-by-mail ballot.
All households with registered voters should have already received the state voter information guides which contain information about the state propositions and candidates.
Residents can check their registration status online, or call the Elections office at (805) 781-5228, if they are unsure of their registration status.
To update your voter information, please use the state’s online voter registration system.
Additionally, the County Clerk-Recorder’s office is still in need of poll workers and Adopt-a-Poll groups to staff the polls for the June 5 election.
The County employs approximately 1,000 precinct workers to work at the polls on Election Day. Poll workers must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a registered voter in California or a lawful permanent resident of the United States. Be a part of democracy and assist voters at the polls on Election Day.
