Cody A. Julian found guilty by San Luis Obispo County jury of five counts in 2016 child molest case involving a victim under the age of 10

On Thursday afternoon, March 29, 2018, a San Luis Obispo County jury found Cody Adam Julian (DOB 10/24/1989) guilty of four counts of performing a lewd or lascivious act on a minor in violation of Penal Code section 288(a), and one count of engaging in a sex act with a child under the age of 10 in violation of Penal Code section 288.7(b), all felonies for abuse that occurred during 2016.  The jury verdict was reached after a three-week trial.

“Cases with sexual abuse of children are some of the most complex, sensitive, and tragic cases handled by our office.  It takes an immense amount of courage for this young victim to come forward and report the abuse.  We are thankful for the hard work of the jury and satisfied with their verdicts.  I am proud of the hard work of our entire prosecution team in staying the course so that this victim’s voice could be heard and this offender held accountable,” said District Attorney Dan Dow.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 23, 2018, in Department 7 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, the Honorable Judge Craig van Rooyen presiding.  Mr. Julian faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Christopher B. White and investigated by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
