Veterans Outreach Horseback Riding Event

The Veterans Outreach program of San Luis Obispo is hosting their next event at Madonna Inn Trail Rides on Sunday, October 1st.
San Luis Obispo – 50 local military veterans and family members are set to enjoy horseback riding with Madonna Inn Trail Rides (100 Madonna Road) on Sunday, October 1 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. This marks five years of the County of San Luis Obispo’s Veterans Outreach hosting activities and connecting veterans and their families to mental health resources in the community.
This event is in continued collaboration with Madonna Inn Trail Rides and Partners in Equestrian Therapy. Previous Veterans Outreach events include ATV rides in Oceano, surfing in Pismo Beach, kayaking in Morro Bay, and ziplining at Lopez Lake.

The program is excited to welcome many new participants for Sunday’s trail ride thanks to its membership in the SLO Veterans Service Collaborative. The collaborative is composed with over 50 local organizations serving county veterans. The Collaboratives mission is to identify strengths and areas for improvement in delivering services to the local veteran community. Veterans Outreach participants now learn about employment, housing, medical and education assistance as well.
Veterans Outreach events are free of cost to those who served in the military and their guests.
