Probation Financial Declaration

Alternative Method to Receive Services

The San Luis Obispo County Probation Department’s Victim Restoration Unit is in charge of enforcing the orders of the Courts through the collection of restitution and fines.  It is vital and necessary to uphold the orders of the court and make the individuals who have committed crimes financially accountable in terms of fines, fees, and restitution and, to reimburse the County for expenses incurred as a result of criminal activity.

It is the intention of the Court that victims be made whole for any losses incurred. Representatives of the Victim Restoration Unit can assist victims in submitting claims for restitution to be assigned to those defendants granted probation.

Probation Financial Declaration

The Financial Declaration Form is used by The Public Defender Fee Reimbursement Program. When a Public Defender is appointed in Court, the Judge orders the Defendant to report to the County Officer at the financial evaluation booth to evaluate the Defendant's ability to pay. The Financial Declaration form is then used to determine a Defendant's ability to pay for the use of the Public Defender.

Probation Statement of Assets

Legal guardians must file a listing of assets, income, property and other holdings in order for the Probation Department to estimate the legal guardians ability to pay court fines and fees.
