The State announced the results of a study estimating the economic impact of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant closure and will answer questions about the study on June 28

A public forum to present the results of the State's economic impact report for the closure of Diablo Canyon will be held at the County of San Luis Obispo Board Chambers on Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m.

UC Berkeley and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), along with Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), will present the report, which was a result of Senate Bill (SB) 968, authored by Senator Monning. SB 968 required the report to assess the regional economic effect that would result from the closure of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).

Stakeholders who signed onto the Joint Proposal, including representatives from the County, other local governments, local school districts, labor groups, environmental groups, and a utility ratepayer group focused on nuclear expenses, will also attend.
