New Cannabis Microbusiness Licenses Now Available

The Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector (ACTTC) is pleased to announce the availability of cannabis microbusiness licenses for businesses operating within the unincorporated areas of the county.

Cannabis Business Tax Rate to Remain at 6% for Fiscal Year 2024-25

During its Monday, June 24, 2024, meeting, the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors voted to maintain the Cannabis Business Tax (CBT) rate at 6%. This rate will remain effective for Fiscal Year 24-25 (July 1-June 30).

April 10th is the Last Day to Pay the 2nd Installment of the Annual Secured Property Tax Bill Without Penalties

After April 10th, state law requires that payments must also include a 10% penalty.

Board of Supervisors Approves New Cannabis Tax Compliance Program

On September 13th, the Board of Supervisors approved changes to the County’s cannabis program, including approving a new required fee for licensed cannabis businesses operating in the unincorporated areas of the County. The new fee will take effect on October 14, 2022.

Pay Taxes on Unsecured Property by August 31st to Avoid Penalties

Owners of taxable unsecured business or personal property must pay their tax bills by August 31st this year to avoid a 10% penalty.

Cannabis Business Tax Rate Increases to 8% of Gross Receipts on July 1, 2022

Starting July 1, 2022, all cannabis business operators in the unincorporated areas of the County must collect tax at an 8% rate.
