Services Available for Community Members Affected by Nipomo Active Shooter Incident

Individuals impacted by the active shooting incident in August can access in-person support.


District Attorney Dan Dow announced again today that the San Luis Obispo County’s District Attorney’s Office and the Behavioral Health Department are teaming up to assist those impacted by the active shooting incident that took place in Nipomo on Friday, August 21, 2020. 

Witnesses to the shooting incident, their impacted loved ones, and family members are encouraged to attend this event to determine if available resources may be of help. 

Advocates from the District Attorney’s Christopher G. Money Victim Witness Assistance Center, counselors from the San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Department, and a representative with the California Victim Compensation Board will be on hand to offer counseling services, resource information, and support to those affected and their family members. 

Advocates and counselors will be available at the Nipomo High School, Olympic Hall, located at 525 North Thompson Avenue, on Thursday, September 10th from 10:00AM-2:00PM.

All COVID-19 guidelines shall be followed.  Please make sure you have a face covering with you if you plan to attend.
