Every year, the County awards Community Based Organizations and Preventative Health (CBO/PHG) Grants to local programs that support and complement, but do not duplicate, the efforts of the County’s health and human services departments. Public and private nonprofit organizations may apply. Programs and projects must be carried out in San Luis Obispo County.
Grant applications will be reviewed by the CBO/PHG Review Committee, made up of members of the Adult Policy Council, the Behavioral Health Advisory Board, the Health Commission and the Children's Services Network. This committee will make recommendations to the County Administrative Officer and the Board of Supervisors for grants awarded in fiscal year 2019-20.
Last year, the County received 74 grant applications from 57 nonprofit organizations requesting about $2.1 million. Approximately $1.5 million in grant funding was awarded to assist local community-based organizations and preventative health programs.
Review the formal request for applications (RFA) and the grant application.
Applications are due to the County Administrative Office by February 15, 2019 by 5 p.m. Please contact Nikki Schmidt in the Administrative Office for more information at (805) 781-5011.
