County Treasury Investment Policy
The purpose of the San Luis Obispo County Treasury Investment Policy is to clearly state the guidelines and standards established by the County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector for management of the County's Combined Pool Investment Fund, including prudent investment, objectives, internal controls, oversight, and reporting requirements.
County Treasury Investment Pool Rating Report
The County Investment Pool is rated annually by Fitch Ratings, one of the top three international credit rating agencies. Fitch Ratings evaluates the County’s investment pool annually and reports their rating and findings based on such key drivers as credit portfolio, depositor base, sensitivity to credit risk, market risk, and interest rate risk. The full rating report is a good resource for individuals interested in learning about the County’s investment pool and how it is managed. It is always the County’s goal to maintain the highest possible rating from Fitch. This goal has been met for over twenty (20) consecutive years.
County Treasury Investment Pool Yields
The County Treasury uses the State Local Agency Investment Fund's (LAIF) apportioned yield as a benchmark. It is shown in comparison with the Treasury Quarterly Yield and Treasury Apportioned Yield.
County Treasury Quarterly Report of Investments
The Treasury produces a quarterly report of investments no later than the 20th of the month after the end of each quarter. This is done to provide school districts, County departments, and the public with important information for each investment held, including the cost and current market value.
