Information Technology Strategic Plan

County of San Luis Obispo Information Technology Department Strategic Plan for FY 2019-20 to FY 2022-23. The County is poised to deploy Information Technology solutions that better support the delivery of services to constituents, improve business processes, and facilitate access to ever-increasing information needs. The positive transformation of public services will only be possible through the championing of IT as an agent of change and enabler of better government. 

San Luis Obispo County Emergency Communications Council (SLOECC)

This is the online site of the San Luis Obispo County Emergency Communications Council (SLOECC). The SLOECC is the logistic support organization for amateur radio emergency communications in San Luis Obispo (SLO) County halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Community Collaboration for IT Projects

The Information Technology Department (ITD) does more than just in-house service work. ITD delivers reliable and secure solutions to support the whole of the County's technology needs. We safeguard and support systems, networks and data from within, while offering additional services to assist our County's residents.

GIS Parcel Data

The County of San Luis Obispo is engaged in a current project to bring Geographic Information Systems (GIS) parcel maintenance in-house to the Assessor's Office. However, until then we are unable to distribute these data.

County of SLO GIS Open Data Site

The County of San Luis Obispo Geographic Information Systems (GIS) teams are committed to providing transparency and easy access to as many GIS datasets as possible. To support this mission, they created an Open Data site through arcgis.com, which is the data repository for all publicly available SLO County GIS Data.  

GIS Aerial Imagery

2014 Aerial Imagery - The County's 2014 aerial imagery was placed in the public domain. To obtain the County’s 2014 aerial imagery data, go to USGS’s EarthExplorer website - https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/ . For assistance with the downloading data from EarthExplorer, please contact Drew Decker from the USGS at (619) 225-6430 or [email protected]

County Wi-Fi

The County of San Luis Obispo Information Technology Department provides free Wi-Fi access in all San Luis Obispo County government buildings.

County Staff VPN Access

The Information Technology Department (ITD) provides remote access for County employees to their workstations through a Virtual Private Network Client (VPN).

The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client is required to connect to the County network via VPN as of December 1, 2015. The AnyConnect Client is available for Windows®, macOS®, Android™ and iOS.
