Repair Work to Begin in Avila Beach to Refurbish the Interconnect Between Adjoining Water Systems

AVILA BEACH - The Public Works Department will begin repair work on May 29, 2024, at the Avila Beach Drive and Ana Bay Road intersection to refurbish the interconnect between two adjacent water systems: San Miguelito Mutual Water Company and the Lopez Water Project Pipeline.

Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with periodic lane closures on Avila Beach Drive and Ana Bay Road from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is estimated that construction will last through June 21, 2024. Please refer to the map for location.

This project is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and will benefit the local communities in the Avila Beach and Port San Luis areas by providing a reliable source of emergency water in the event that the Lopez Water Project service is interrupted.
