Purpose Provide guidelines for drafting Board of Supervisors resolutions recognizing employee retirements.

Employee Retirement Resolution Procedure

  1. Peace officers or non-sworn employees with 25 years or more of county service will be entitled to a formal Board of Supervisors resolution and presentation.
  2. Peace officers or non-sworn employees with 20 – 24 years of county service will be entitled to a Board of Supervisors resolution on the consent agenda with no presentation.
  3. Each Chief Deputy Probation Officer will be responsible for confirming with any retiree in their division if they would like a resolution.  Chief Deputies will draft the resolution.
  4. Any plaque for peace officers will be handled by the SLOCPPOA and include the mounting of the officer’s current badge.
  5. The Chief Probation Officer will be responsible for the replacement badge.
