  1. Probation / Juvenile Hall / Coastal Valley Academy – Chief Robert B. Reyes, the juvenile detention facility currently has ,13 juveniles enrolled in the program, 3 are housed in CVA.  The Office of Youth and Community Restoration will be touring the Juvenile Facility on February 6, 2023.  The specialized home care program contract is going to the board for approval, later this month.
  1. District Attorney’s Office: (Steve Von Dohlen) January 3, 2023, was Judge Peron first day on the bench.  Judge Peron will be the new Juvenile Court Officer for both Juvenile Justice and juvenile dependency cases.
  1. Department of Social Services: (Angella Holmes) In the month of December, DSS had a 3% percent increase in the number of calls refused for intake reports of abuse and neglect.  It was also reported 16%increase in the number of calls that were assigned to social workers for investigation.
  2. County Office of Education: (Katherine Aaron) Out the 16 youth out in the Juvenile Services Center, 12 are enrolled in school, 9 in the detention side, 3 in CVA 3 and the other 4 are graduates.  Loma Vista School returns back to class next week; last day of school was December 22, 2022, with 72 students enrolled.  Special Education School has 21 students enrolled.
