  1. Probation / Juvenile Hall / Coastal Valley Academy – (Robert. B. Reyes, Chief) As of today, the current juvenile population is sixteen; ten youth are housed on the detention side, six youth are enrolled in CVA program.  One youth is serving a long-term commitment in the secure youth track, two other youth are pending commitment.  CVA has entered into a contract with Glenn County for CVA services; contracts are currently in place with Sonoma, Mendocino, Santa Cruz County for CVA services.  The updated Juvenile Justice Realignment plan was submitted to the office of Youth and Community Restoration.  The larger Juvenile Justice Plan was submitted to the state, with no major changes.
  1. Department of Social Services: (Angella Holmes) No update.
  2. County Office of Education: (Katherine Aaron) Graduation is scheduled for June 8th, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Loma Vista Community School.  Currently, 70 students are enrolled in Loma Vista, 25 students are enrolled in Special Education.  Between Loma Vista and Special Education School, 13 referrals have been received from different districts to attend various programs.
  3. District Attorney’s Office: (Steve Von Dohlen) No Update
  4. Behavior Health Department – No update
  5. Superior Court- (Judge Peron) No update  
  6. Law Enforcement:  No update
  7. San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Presentation.
  8. Presentation: Child Abuse Interview Team (CAIT) by Katie Robinson, CAIT Program Manager
  9. Legislation – (Robert B. Reyes) No update
  10. Children’s Services Network (Kayla Plourde) The Children Services Network is in the process of adding two new members. 
  11. Truancy Board Meeting – (Cindy Wittstrom & Arlene Sackman) The Lucia Marr and County SARB meetings were scheduled on the same day.  Arlene was unable to attend both meetings.
  12. Budget Report: This will be a standing item on the DPC agenda.  The DPC commission has a budget of $5000.00.  The funding covers stipends and meal expenditures for Commissioners.  DJ Pittenger proposed that the remaining balance be used to fund workshops / training for current commissioners.  No agreement was made today; the item will be discussed at the following JJC-DPC meeting.
  13. Cuesta College:  Cuesta College has received new funding to support foster youth programs.  The Special Olympics is scheduled for Friday, May 5th, 2023, at 9:00 AM.  The event will be held at Cuesta College, 400 athletes are scheduled to participate.  The Peace Officer Memorial is scheduled for May 17, 2023.  The memorial will be held at Paso Robles City Park, Paso Robles, Ca.  All commissioners and guests are welcome to attend.
  14. Prevention Intervention Youth Sub Committee– (Amelia Plemons) No update
  15. Anti-Gang Coordinating Commission – (Cindy Wittstrom) No update
  16. Human Trafficking Task Force – (Jim Brabeck) No update
  17. Review and Adoption of Bylaws – A motion was made to adopt the Delinquency Prevention Commission bylaws as amended, seconded by Arlene Sackman. All in favor, motion carried.
  18. Election of 23-24 Executive Committee Officers – A motion was made by Arlene Sackman to appoint Kayla Plourde as Chair, Karen Donaghe as Vice Chair and Amelia Plemons as Secretary for the JJC – DPC Commission. Term will begin July 1st, 2023.  All in favor, motion carried.
  19. Agenda Items: No presenters are scheduled for the month of June.
