Juvenile Crime
The high level of confidentiality that applies to juvenile offenders makes it difficult at times to get information about a case. Our Victim Witness Assistance Center recognizes this frustration and has assigned an advocate specifically for juvenile cases and their victims.
When handling juvenile cases the District Attorney’s Office relies on numerous agencies when applicable. Among them:
- School Resources Officers (SRO)
- School Administrators
- Probation
Although the process, terminology, and outcome of juvenile cases may be different than adult cases, services offered by Victim Witness remain similar for all victims. Victims of juvenile crime have a right to attend all juvenile hearings, to address the court at dispositional hearings and to restitution. Please contact Victim Witness for additional information.
