San Luis Obispo County, CA  Central Coast families are invited to a Día del Niño festival hosted by County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries in San Miguel Park Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Children’s Day festival returns for its second year—sponsored by First 5 SLO County, Early Care & Education Planning Council SLO County, the Friends of the Atascadero Library, and the Friends of the San Miguel Library—bringing a variety of games, performances, and activities to the community of San Miguel, CA.

“It’s an outdoor museum experience and carnival in the park,” said Erica Thatcher, spokesperson for the libraries. “Kids and families can learn, explore, and play as well as get familiar with our local organizations.”

Visitors will meet animals from the Atascadero Zoo, play carnival-style games, meet newly hatched chicks, explore SLO Symphony instruments, and more, throughout the day. Scheduled activities like jam making, science activities, and instrument-making begin at the top of every hour starting at Noon.

Local baile folklorico groups Flor de Luna and Paso a Pasito and student musicians from Lillian Larsen Middle School will close out the afternoon with performances beginning at 1:15.
Festival-goers can start the day with the annual San Miguel Sagebrush Parade on Mission Street, which runs from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
