The County of San Luis Obispo and the City of Arroyo Grande are jointly developing a Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the sustainable management of the Arroyo Grande Subbasin.
The County received state grant funding to develop a GSP in compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). A key component in the GSP will include the development of an integrated surface water and groundwater model that will help decision makers better understand the interconnections between the groundwater basin and the Arroyo Grande Creek watershed. The model will support local priorities such as effective operation of Lopez Lake and the further development of the Arroyo Grande Creek Habitat Conservation Plan.
All interested stakeholders and members of the public are encouraged to participate in the workshops beginning in December to learn about and provide input on the development of the Arroyo Grande Subbasin GSP. Below are details about the online Workshop #1: Basin Setting and Visioning.
