County Parks hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on October 11, 2018, to show our gratitude to the many volunteers in parks.

The event included a Santa Maria style barbeque, bingo, raffle, and thank you gifts with approximately 130 volunteers in attendance.

County Parks currently has hundreds of volunteers that donate their time and provide valuable services to our parks and natural areas within the county.  Last year, volunteers donated over 80,000 hours of their time and resources to help with on-going trail maintenance, construction projects, customer service, dog park maintenance, golf course marshals and so much more.

Volunteers had a great time at the event and many of their guests asked how they, too, can become volunteers.  For more information about volunteer opportunities with County Parks, please visit our web site at: slocountyparks.com. and click on volunteer opportunities.  Our Volunteer Program works closely with the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO) to provide volunteer workdays and special events at our parks and golf courses. Please contact ECOSLO at 805.544.1777 for information on upcoming workdays.
