Celebrate One of Nature’s Wonders -- The Monarch Butterfly.

Come and explore one of the area's largest Monarch Groves with the County of San Luis Obispo's Golf Superintendent, Josh Heptig, and/or former Cal Poly Entomology Professor Dr. Kingston Leong.  You will witness and stand near thousands of Monarch Butterflies while learning of their amazing migration to the Central Coast. You will also discover how the golf course works to enhance the land to benefit the surrounding community and various creatures that live there.

Tours will be held at the Morro Bay Golf Course located at 201 State Park Road, Morro Bay. All ages and abilities are welcome. Golf car transportation will be available for disabled individuals. Tours encompass a ¼ mile hike uphill and back.  If interested, we will meet at 11:00 a.m. at the golf course Clubhouse. Tours are free to attend and will be held on the following dates:

  • November 9th and 23rd, 2019
  • December 7th and 21st, 2019
  • January 4th and 18th, 2020

Rain will cancel the tour. For more information, please contact Josh Heptig at (805) 215-4125.
