1st Street Beach Access Stairway Replacement in Cayucos

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Parks and Recreation will begin construction to replace the existing beach access staircase and public access amenities on Pacific Street near the end of 1st Street in Cayucos.
Public amenities include a concrete staircase to withstand the coastal environment, a stylized bench, bike racks and access signage. Please see map for specific location.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 26, 2019, and continue until November 4, 2019, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Kinyon Construction of Santa Maria, CA will be performing the work under the County’s Job Order Contracting program.
Please be aware and acknowledge all safety barricades, traffic control and other public safety measures in place during the construction phase. Completion of this project will promote safer coastal beach access and increased recreational opportunities for youth and adults.
Project funding is provided in partnership with the Cayucos Business Improvement District Funds, County Quimby Area 2 fees, mitigation funding from the California Coastal Commission, Supervisorial District 2 Community Project funds, County Park Reserves and a grant from the California Coastal Conservancy.
