Construction will begin September 2019 and is expected to be completed January 2020.

For the safety of the public, traffic will be subject to detours and will reduced to one-way controls with flaggers, as required for each phase of work. Lane closure hours will be weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Delays of up to 10 minutes are expected. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans in consideration of the delays and consider alternative routes.

The roads to be resurfaced are selected from the County’s Pavement Management Plan Five Year Paving List. (Available at: http://www.slocounty.ca.gov/Departments/Public-Works/Services/Pavement-Management-Report.aspx) These roads have deteriorated to a point of requiring new pavement to be placed. Overall, 17 miles will be repaved providing a smooth, safe roadway and reduce the County’s on-going maintenance expense.

CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA has been awarded the contract for $4,822,239.35 to perform the work.  The project is funded by County Road Maintenance Funds and the Senate Bill 1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account.
