  • Osage Street between Tejas Place and South Las Flores Drive
  • Olympic Way between Camino Caballo Street and Pomeroy Road
  • Valley Road between Los Berros Road and Fair Oaks Avenue (County portion)

The work will include removing and replacing failed pavement, placing an overlay of hot mix asphalt concrete, and reconstructing various roadside facilities such as curb ramps, dikes and shoulders. Medians are being added in portions of the project to improve traffic circulation and safety. Construct median islands on Tefft Street between:

  • South Frontage to Mary Avenue
  • Finnians Way to Blume Street
  • Elvira Way to Pomeroy Road

Construct median island on Mary Avenue from Tefft Street to the first shopping center driveway.

For the safety of the public and the workers, traffic will be subject to detours, lane closures, or reduced to one-way controls with flaggers and pilot cars as required for each phase of the work.

On Tefft Street, hours of the lane closures will be weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The on and off ramps to Highway 101 will be closed intermittently. On Mary Avenue, work may be done at night between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Detour signs and message boards will inform motorists of the closures and direct them to alternate routes. All businesses will be open and access will be provided for the duration of the project.

The work on Valley Road will require lane closures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Lane closures on other roads will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans in consideration of potential delays and consider alternative routes.

The work is part of the County’s $7 million annual Pavement Management Plan to address road conditions and to provide safe roads. The project is funded by San Luis Obispo County Road and General Funds. R. Burke Corporation of San Luis Obispo, CA has been awarded the contract for $2,863,151 to perform the work.
