Maintenance work on the stair tower at the San Luis Obispo City/County Library is scheduled to occur this coming weekend. The work will require the front entry courtyard to be barricaded off on Saturday, November 10, 2018 through Sunday, November 11, 2018.
The library will remain open during regular business hours and signs will be posted to direct visitors to secondary access doors into the library while work is taking place.
The general scope of work is as follows:
- Friday, November 9, 2018: Boom lift to be delivered to site and stored on street.
- Saturday, November 10, 2018: Entry courtyard will be barricaded off with temporary chain link fencing. Boom lift will be used to prep and prime the upper corner accents on the stair tower.
- Sunday, November 11, 2018: Boom lift will be used to apply two coats of elastomeric paint at four, upper corner accents, on stair tower. Temporary chain link fence will be removed.
- Monday, November 12, 2019: Boom lift to be removed from site
Please be aware that all safety barricades, traffic control, and other public safety measures will be in place during this work. Completion of this project will help extend the useful life of the facility stair tower for the use and enjoyment of all visitors and residents of the community of San Luis Obispo.
This work is being managed by the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works. Funding is provided by both the City and County.
