San Luis Obispo Long-Term Care Facilities Accept Residents from Facility Evacuated by Thomas Fire

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department is supporting the evacuation of residents from a long-term care facility affected by the Thomas Fire. This includes coordinating patient tracking and providing cots, blankets, and other materials as needed.
The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department is supporting the evacuation of residents from a long-term care facility affected by the Thomas Fire. This includes coordinating patient tracking and providing cots, blankets, and other materials as needed.
As of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 27 patients from the Cottage Oaks long-term care facility in Santa Barbara were evacuated to long-term care facilities in San Luis Obispo.
Family members seeking information about a patient who may have been evacuated from Cottage Oaks are advised to call 805-305-9326.
The Public Health Department is coordinating closely with colleagues in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties to provide continued support as needed. Officials will provide updates as the situation develops and if other facilities evacuate to San Luis Obispo County facilities.
The Public Health Department is also working closely with the County of San Luis Obispo Air Pollution Control District to continuously assess air quality, to identify any potential health impacts and to inform the community about safeguarding individual health. If air quality becomes unhealthy, officials will alert the public to take precautions.
